Renault hired him to improve a race car's body, showing his talent. He joined Lamborghini in 1982, starting from the bottom but becoming chief engineer. He built the Countach Evoluzione but Lamborghini wouldn't buy the needed equipment. So, in 1991, he left, formed Modena Design, making carbon fiber for F1 and clients like Ferrari. He founded Pagani Automobili Modena in 1992. His first car, the Zonda, took 7 years. Then came the Huayra, named after an Incan wind god.
